Oh My, Deer!  Deer Resistant Plants

Living "on the Cay" means increased probability you'll have deer visiting your yard from time to time . . . okay, or possibly visiting daily.  Below you'll find online guides & articles listing deer resistant plants.

The caveat, of course, is that if deer are very hungry they'll eat most anything - the over abundance of deer in our area has made that evident.  Hopeful these lists will help guide us to cohabitate and maintain our gardens without deer teeth marks.

HGIC Note: "It is disheartening to add new annual and perennial plants to the landscape only to find them mowed to the ground by resident wildlife. Many gardeners struggle with deer eating their plants. While no plant is completely fool proof, deer seldom damage the plants listed below. The only solution that is fail proof is exclusion, which is not a very practical solution for most homeowners."
