In Tega Cay, where community pride runs as deep as our roots, we are happy to bring the joy of gardening to local organizations and schools.  Collaboration has also blossomed between the City and our garden club. After the resounding success transforming a roundabout median by Pitcairn Park into the Gardening on the Cay Memorial Garden, the city asked us to lend our green thumbs to even more projects, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to dig in!

  • Family Promise - Carolina Fence Garden.  Initiated in 2022, our club continues to maintain a garden at the Family Promise of York County Homeless Center.  It lifts the spirits of families seeking shelter, offering a peaceful oasis of hope and beauty in challenging times.  A simple bench, thoughtfully placed by our members, has become a cherished spot for quiet rest and reflection - a lasting reminder of our club's commitment to nurturing both nature and community.

  • Fort Mill Care Center.  Our club takes pride in continuing to maintain the entrance landscape of this valued organization, adding seasonal touches and holiday decor that make the building more welcoming.

  • City Hall Cheer: We decked the halls, literally, adding holiday spirit to City Hall, where children can drop off their letters to Santa. Our members enjoyed blending greenery and glitter to make this cherished spot magical for families.

  • Police Station Planters: First impressions matter.  Our members assumed the care and enhancement of planters at the entrance of the Tega Cay Police Station.

  • Local Schools.  We're pleased to continue partnerships with two local schools, maintaining gardens that provide their students living, ecological classrooms.  A certified monarch butterfly way station at Tega Cay Elementary School (2016)  and a Carolina fence garden at Riverview Elementary School (2018); in addition to  entrance planters.

BEAUTIFICATION OF PUBLIC SPACES

Our club is dedicated to creating and maintaining gardens that uplift and inspire. From enhancing local schools to partnering with community organizations, we bring the beauty and benefits of gardening to spaces where they can make an impact; and add "flair" to our city.
